2nd place.
you might see it as a form of misfortune or even a disappointment.
but i didnt. in fact i barely consent.
for me, to be in 2nd place is too an ultimate achievement. not that you're not accomplished to reach the best but hey, being a 2nd means being the 2nd BEST, right? you're still (among) the best(s) and it's quite an immense thing though.
in a society, the 2nd person's role would be assisting and supporting the 1st, superseding him while he's unable to carry on, even the 2nd person would be expected to hold the 1st back and sustain him no matter what, when, and how.
noone with no vast heart could ever do such noble things.
because only forbearing ppl can hold back the insolent urge to show off, resist the vicious volition to be seen, and restrain the ferocious desire to be prominent.
and without the number 2 (and so on), number 1 would never be as grand as it has been.
